We recommend that you use your carrier BlackBerry e-mail address since GMail, Yahoo, Hotmail or other clients may flag the alert as spam.
How can I make sure the alerts aren't percieved as spam?Tip #1: If using a web email account like GMail or an email account where your contacts/address book is stored on the email server (like an Exchange server) be sure to add alert@bbosalert.com to your contacts/address book. The reason for this is that some spam filters check your contacts/address book before delivering email to your mailbox.
Tip #2: From the email acount where you would like to receive bbOSalert notifications send an email to alert@bbosalert.com. The reason for this is that some spam filters will place addresses that you send email to on a white list and therefore anyone you email will automatically be allowed to email you back.

How do I know if I missed an alert?If you see an OS has leaked on any BlackBerry page and do not believe you have received an alert, check your "recent alert" menu to see if it is listed.
